Mad Dolls City Chapter 21

While Becky Botsford went to her goalie position her cousin Donna Moreno who is holding her right ribs tells her in a polite voice "Becky I know you are kind of busy right now. But I want to tell you on behalf of my sister, we thank you for letting be part of your team. My dad is right he said (imitates his voice if he were female) 'Your baptism by fire.' Good luck. Debi and myself will do our best to keep the Blue Wave away from you." She pat her on her back as Becky has the eye of the tiger.

The Blue Wave which is the French soccer team has Chloe Bourgeois, Lila Rossi and Alya Cesaire ready to form an offensive line called the Blue Wave because of the colors of their blue soccer uniforms.

Donna, Debi and Gabrielle were at the area close to the goal as they received instructions from their coach Ronnie to "Stay in their lanes." as Bourgeois received a pass from Cesaire about ten yards away from the goal when Cesaire managed to execute a pretty pass to Rossi who was withing five feet from Becky when Gabrielle tripped Rossi from behind as she was about to kick the ball at the goal with ten seconds left in the game.

Referee blows his whistle as he calls a penalty kick on Gabrielle her tackle on Rossi was ruled a foul to the chagrin of the Fairview players who yelled at the referee all kinds of names that cannot be printed here.

Ronnie tells his players in a loud voice "Girls girls knock it off. Get back here. Now!" The three girls then go to the sidelines with Gabrielle hanging her head and telling her coach in a sorrow tone "I am sorry I failed you coach."

Ronnie says to Gabrielle in a cheerful voice "You did not fail me. This is the baptism by fire that will have Becky with the cloak of immortality." Gabrielle pony tail locks then go up above her head. (Cloak of immortality is a term used by the late Al Davis)

Then Rossi stares Becky in her eyes as she tells her "I beat you once. I will do it again." as Becky is near the goal. Then Becky's mind remembers the words of her rival Victoria Best when she was with General Smoochington walking away (Don't Mess With The Best). Becky smiles since her cousins told Victoria "Fools us once shame of you, fool us twice shame on us."

Then Becky remembers the training sessions with her uncle Ronnie at her parents home when she was successful at blocking nine out of ten penalty kicks performed by Gabrielle, Donna and Debi.

The three kids are on the sidelines saying in unison "Come on Becky. We trust you. We are not going to overtime. This is your baptism by fire." (The trio are holding hands in silent prayer.)

Rossi who is right footed then kicks the ball to Becky's left side but Becky trusting her instincts dives toward her left as she catches the ball with both her hands as she cradles the ball like a mom holding a child. Becky rolls a couple of times toward her left on the grass and in an act of joy she pulls her kick to avoid any suspicion she used her powers to kick the ball away into the stands as the game has come to a close according to the referee.

Then Becky jumps for joy as Donna hugs her followed by Debi, Gabrielle and the whole team as Becky screams for joy "We did it! Thanks Coach Moreno."

Rossi is on her knees crying as her as Marinette and her mates console her. Marinette says to Rossi "Even though you hate my guts, you are a damn good player." Rossi refuses to shake Marinette's hand.

Then Ronnie is carried by his team on their shoulders as he tells Donna who is still a little bit sore "Come on girls don't do this."

Donna says "Come on Coach. Get you seat up here." Ronnie who is then wearing his baseball cap with the letter W starts to shake hands with some fans who run on the field to touch their hero. One male fan borrows his hat as the song "The Path To The Title" plays over the loudspeaker.

Then Ronnie meets Thomas Dupain at midfield as he is back on the ground and Thomas says to Moreno "Moreno I hate your guts at first but you are a damn good coach. Thanks for the chance. Let's do it again."

Ronnie says to Thomas "Likewise. Your team has nothing to be ashamed of. We are all winners today." Then the players of both teams have a post game handshakes when Alya shakes Donna's hand as she tells her "You are a brave warrior."

Donna tells Alya "Likewise Alya you are also a great player yourself." Then Marinette tells Donna in a joke form "Where is the gas station? Don't panic we keep our secrets okay?" (Marinette knows Donna's secret as a super hero who saved her from being kidnapped by Signal Man)
Becky asks Donna "What secrets?"

Donna says "Becky put a tiger in your tank. Kaboom. Game over. You like that?" (A swipe at Wordgirl Advance)

Becky says to Donna "If Huggy and myself live to be 100 years of age, we will never understand you."

Donna says to Becky "Just wait until the press conference. The fun will begin soon since your aunt has a special announcement to make." More to come.
